About Ms. Marquez
My name is Cindy Marquez and am of Mexican American decent. Both my parents are Mexican. I am the oldest of 3. I grew up in the city of Huntington Park for the first 13 years of my life. Then, I moved to the city of Los Angeles and have been living in this city ever since. I have had many different jobs. My first job was at the age of 15 at McDonald’s, then Sears, then at I moved out of my house at the age of 19 and worked for the LAUSD as a teacher’s assistant. I started College at the age of 26. I attended CSUDH where I received a bachelors in Anthropology and a Bachelors in conflict/resolution. I then attended Loyola Marymount received a Master’s Degree in Education. I enjoy learning about what it means to be alive! I still have many goals that I am on my way to achieve and most of them involve working with people. My wish to pass to my students is to have an all or nothing approach to life. To learn to commit to their goals and find ways to make them happen.
