Staying Connected Day 13 ( 04-17-2020)

Good morning Families, Hope you all are well.  As some of you know, I live a bit of a distance from the school.  I'm blessed to be able to care for myself and have what I call my little haven near the mountains, where I can look out my window and see peace and calm.

As some of you also know, this was not always my life. I grew up in a very broken and dysfunctional home and by the age of 15 I was emancipated and began to make my own way. Although life has not been easy, each step of the way I just figured I was being tested and prepared for something which would require all of the strength I was learning to have. I just had to have faith in that.

I'm not saying that the state of affairs in which we live is that moment. I'm saying that when I push my students and when I seem to be demanding of you it is because I know from the deepness of my soul that there is nothing we are given that we cannot handle. We were built tough. And all we must do is hold on to what little strength we have, start with a 5 or even a 2 pound weight if you will, and build from there. Before you know it you'll be doing pull-up.

Keep on pushing. Keep on breathing. We'll be on this end when you need us.

Be well, Ms. Torres (323-376-6098
